This map showcases the layout of the entire globe as it was understood to exist at the same by Dutch society. The map depicts major land masses across the world, highlighting six of the seven continents. In the North American continent, the western side of the landmass was largely uncharted and is largely missing in the map. Specifically, the Baja California peninsula is depicted as a free-floating island and is detached from the continent. Alaska and western parts of Canada are undocumented from the map, signaling a lack of knowledge in regard to its existence.
